On the evening of March 10, our club was among a few Columbia Alumni Association clubs around the country that joined in what may be a new way to connect grads with profs who can talk about current projects, books, or research.
Here are some photos from our West Bloomfield gathering as we listened to Columbia lecturer Elizabeth Mitchell discuss highlights from her new book, "Liberty's Torch." She discussed the difficulties encountered in the design and creation of the Statue of Liberty. It almost failed to be built!
We were able to engage after the lecture by typing in questions for Mitchell to answer.
The talk was shared on GoToMeeting, a new way for the University to connect with alumni.
