Katie showed up wearing a pink boa for her lecture and book signing and made sure to inject plenty of humor in her talk about dark matter and its role in the Universe.
She also did her best to keep the heady topic to a level where most of us could keep up.
Somewhat.
Okay, a little.
Actually, it was quite entertaining and illuminating, and generated a number of questions from the crowd, including: What are the practical applications of making these discoveries? To which she answered: You never know.
Afterward, we mingled and enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres as Katie signed some copies of her books and posed for pictures.
