Dr. Freese is the George E. Uhlenbeck Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan and one of the world’s leading researchers into the mystery of dark matter.
Currently in a three-year position as Director of Nordita, the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Nordic countries in Stockholm, Freese holds a BA in Physics from Princeton University (as far as she knows, she was the second woman to major in Physics at Princeton); an MA in Physics in 1981 from Columbia University; and a PhD in Physics in 1984 from the University of Chicago.
The event is open to Columbia alums and guests and members of other All-Ivy alumni clubs. Following the lecture we'll enjoy networking and socializing with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar at the VisTaTech Center of Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI.
Special thanks to the Columbia Alumni Association for co-sponsoring this event.
