Columbia Alum Speaks at Detroit Event Jan. 30

Jamie Bennett, who received his B.A. from Columbia College, is a featured speaker at SphinxCon January 30 to February 1 at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit. Jamie speaks Fri. January 30 at 5:15 p.m.

The event brings together leaders to discuss solutions to the challenges surrounding diversity in the performing arts.

Jamie will be speaking at a Townhall event on the topic of Philanthropy and Grantmaking: "Out of place: How does creative placemaking impact diversity and inclusion?"

Jamie is the executive director of ArtPlace America, a partnership among 14 foundations, 8 federal agencies, and 6 financial institutions dedicated to strengthening the field of creative placemaking. ArtPlace has invested $56.8 million through 189 grants in 122 communities of all sizes across 42 states and the District of Columbia.
