From the Newsroom to the Fast Lane: Automotive Journalism Panel for Columbia and Northwestern Alumni

The Columbia University and Northwestern University Alumni Associations of Michigan are excited to offer a joint event focusing on the state of the U.S. auto industry.

Please join us Thursday, May 8, for an evening of networking and an exclusive panel discussion by three auto reporters based in Southeast Michigan.

As the industry navigates fierce global competition, evolving technologies, and shifting policies, Detroit's top automotive journalists will break down the biggest challenges shaping the road ahead. We'll discuss how the industry is navigating this unprecedented period marked by a new administration, competition from Europe and Asia, three propulsion systems (all of which have gained a foothold in the market), and more.

We'll gather at the Miller Canfield Law Offices in downtown Detroit at 6 p.m. for drinks and light appetizers. The panel discussion, including a Q&A section, begins at 6:45 p.m.

The panelists include:

Jackie Charniga, Auto Reporter, Detroit Free Press (Columbia University School of the Arts, MFA) (pictured upper left)

Joann Muller, Lead Auto Reporter, Axios, (Northwestern University, Graduate School of Journalism) (pictured upper right)

Jeff Gilbert, Automotive Reporter, WWJ Newsradio 950 (pictured lower left)
